Happy Wednesday everybody!
Here’s my contribuion to Friday Fictioneers this week. I hope you enjoy it. If you fancy having a go, click here and head to Rochelle’s page where you will find the prompt for this week. Write something in 100 words or less, and post.
If you would like to read more stories for this week’s prompt, cick on the blue frog 🙂
Thank you to Emmy L Gant for this week’s photo.
They Said
‘Leave it in the bin,’ they said. ‘You know, the one on the roof, near the old market hall. No Police.’
Kirsty dropped the crumpled Sainsbury’s bag. It made a dull thud as it hit the metal.
She glanced around her once more. Greasy-looking rooftops shimmered in the late afternoon sun and the spire of St Jude’s pierced the sky like a needle. Other than that, nothing.
She pulled her coat tight and made for the stairs.
As long as the money was there, they’d give him back.
She’d followed their instructions exactly.
And now they had no reason not to, right?

Oh I do have my fingers crossed for her.

Dear Cheryl,
I’m on pins and needles. Hope they didn’t do the unthinkable and still take the money.

Oh oh. I don’t think this is going to turn out well. More money, dead body? Or maybe…let’s hope it works out for her.

Sorry I didn’t mean to only put one word!!! I really like the desperation – hoping they will do their part now that she has done hers.

Hey, no worries, really sorry for the late reply. I’m working on my first novel and it’s kind of taking all my time at the minute. Really need to get back on my blog.
Thank you so much for reading 🙂

Ha!! I’m doing just the opposite – concentrating more on my blog than on working on my manuscript! I’d rather switch focus but I got a bit stuck. 🙂

I went through a stage like that too… But I’m glad I took the break, because when I came back to it, it worked better than ever. Sometimes the break is necessary. Good luck, I hope it starts flowing again soon 🙂

How sad. I also hope they don’t just take the money, but it can turn bad so quickly. Well done Cheryl. — Suzanne
